Charles “Charlie, Weegee “Palmer

Dec 31, 1944 – February 4, 2017

Charles Brent Palmer, beloved son of Ida Frances Brown (Jeter) and Charles “Juice” Palmer was born at Freedmen’s Hospital in Washington, D.C. on December 31, 1944.

“Weegee” was educated in the District of Columbia Public Schools. After leaving school, he began to work the gift that God had given him; CARPENTRY. Weegee could build a house with his bare hands.

Weegee was instrumental in the restructuring and rebuilding of Union Station, Washington, D.C.

The original “Charlie Brown” loved his family and friends. He truly enjoyed hanging at Bundy Playground and on Riggs Street with his childhood buddies, James Arthur, Boxhead Mickey, Eddie Hines, and Cornell. They have remained friends til this day.

In 1992, Charles mourned the loss of his beloved Patricia “Pat” Coles.

Family was so important to Weegee; he enjoyed watching his favorite football team, The Washington Redskins with his nephews and great nephews. He also had a special bond with each of his siblings; calling Grafton, Tiger, after Tiger Woods because Grafton loved to play golf; calling Jackie; Buddah and Beverlyn; Cutt.

Charles even loved music; equating himself to Lou Rawls and always singing, “You’ll Never Find”.

Charles was preceded in death by his mother, Ida Frances Jeter, his father, Charles Palmer, brother, Marshall Brown, and sister, Marcella Jeter.

Charles leaves to cherish his memory; his brothers, Grafton (Pig), Theodore (Michael), George (Mark); sisters, Brenda, LaVerne, Beverlyn, and Jacqueline. 2 sister in laws; Angela and Helen; 1 one brother in law; Ralph; 2 aunts; Mathenia and Ida Brown. A host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, special cousins like brothers; Clifton and Jason, family and friends.
