Pedro Valentin was born January 22, 1956 to the late Isabel Carroll Robinson Valentin and Miguel Angel Valentin in Washington, DC. He was raised in DC where he attended public school graduating from Cardozo Adult High School.
Pedro met and fell in love with Deborah Simms. In 1984, they created the miracle we know as Recco.
Pedro started working for the District government joining the Department of Parks and Recreation. How he enjoyed setting up stages and other equipment in the community for special events! He later transferred to the Department of Public Works. He was amused by the parking antics in Chevy Chase! He loved D.C. and D.C. Loved him right back!!
Pedro had his toys – a van, many trucks and his motorcycle. He loved to ride with his friends in Pitch Black Riders, where he was known as “Pretty Ricky”.
Pedro was a born tinkerer. He loved to figure out how things worked. He constantly read how to manuals and mechanical magazines. He has a larger tool collection than Sears, Target and Wal-Mart put together. His vast tool collection and skills made him a popular handyman, especially with the ladies. He was always changing a lock, repairing a gadget, hanging a curtain, installing a this, and unstopping a that… He always had time to help others! He was happiest when he was helping someone else!
Our Beloved Pedro has a large family including his son, Recco Valentin of Washington, DC, his granddaughter, Syndney Valentin, his sisters – Trinidad Valentin, PR, Ada Valentin, FL, Natividad Valentin Rivera, FL, Alicia Valentin, MD, Margarita Valentin Edwards (deceased), his brothers – David Valentin, PR, Miguel Angel Valentin Jr., TX, Alfonso Valentin, FL, Armondo Valentin, MD, Rafael Valentin, FL, David Valentin, FL, Miguel Angel Valentin (deceased), Edward G. Robinson, II (deceased), Harold Robinson (deceased) and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He will always be our favorite Uncle!
